MSI announced its latest addition to its X99 GAMING family, the X99A Tomahawk. A new Intel X99 motherboard that was designed to provide enthusiasts the key features they need, but with none of the pomp that usually jacks up the price of boards.

It comes packed with several unique and new MSI features and a fully armored IO and audio cover, industries highest quality components and harnessing optimized gaming audio, providing gamers with best-in-class features and protection. Besides its stunning looks, the cover labeled with TOMAHAWK protects against Electro Magnetic Interference and ensures pure performance and the best audio signal for gaming rig. Heavy plated heatsinks with MSI’s unique styling, make sure your system can handle anything when and runs cool when the racking up frags and climbing the leaderboards when gaming for longer periods of time.

The all-black board will fit into the stealth-focused builds, and it lacks certain features that could be considered superfluous, like onboard RGB LEDs. However, MSI has also included a 4-pin RGB header that will allow you to connect an external LED strip and also use the Mystic Lighting software to configure it.

Furthermore, the I/O and audio components have been shielded against the electromagnetic interference for the cleaner audio signals and better performance. You will find a USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-C port on the rear, so the board will be able to interface easily with the latest devices and peripherals.

Storage connectivity on the X99A Tomahawk includes one 32 Gb/s M.2 slot, one 32 Gb/s U.2 port, one 16 Gb/s SATA-Express, and 8 SATA 6 Gb/s ports. USB connectivity includes two USB 3.1 ports (one each of type-A and type-C), 8 USB 3.0 ports, and 8 USB 2.0/1.1 ports.
