AOC has launched a new slick looking 27-inch monitor with a QHD resolution that is tidily slim and has a ‘borderless’ panel. The is borderless on all 4-sides (meaning it has extremely thin bezels – 5.7mm all round save for the lower border which is a smidge thicker at 6.25mm) for that coveted ‘image suspended in the air’ look. The monitor stand has pretty nifty aesthetics about it too.

The basic design of Q2781PQ uses AOC already at I2781FH same size. However, this only solves with 1,920 × 1,080 pixels. DC remains is in turn the LCD technology In-Plane Switching (IPS). The AH-IPS panel from LG provides a high viewing angle stability and should completely cover the RGB color space when AOC display. The color depth is indicated with 16.7 million colors (8 bits).

“Four-Sided frameless” does not mean without frame

A habit of the marketing of current LCD monitors is to provide a “frameless ” (frameless) designs. Many manufacturers use this tag, although no later than when switching the actual edge as the distance between visible image area and the outer edge of the housing is visible – a truly frameless PC monitor is not withheld. Also AOC uses the marketing phrase, is this but at least in quotes. The manufacturer speaks of a ” four-sided-frameless ” design and refuted this statement along with the specification of a top and sides 5.7 mm and 6.25 mm at the bottom relatively thin edge.

On the back of the monitor located next to the idiosyncratic shaped pedestal connections. Two HDMI ports, a DisplayPort, a VGA port and a headphone jack are available. In DVI is omitted, also of MHL Support for mobile devices in the data sheet of the question. With Flicker-Free is described that the LED backlight to DC power source – some LCD monitors with pulse-width modulation (PWM) appear prone to annoying flicker. As so often is an extravagant and sleek design compromises in ergonomics: The screen can be adjusted only in the tilt.

The manufacturer of AOC 27 inch monitor manual, calls for Q2781PQ a price of 349 euros, in July which should display be available. The three-year warranty includes replacement service.
